Alright, let’s gab about places where you can jump in the water, you know, them waterfalls to swim in. I ain’t been to all these fancy places, mind you, just heard about ’em or saw some pictures. But if you’re lookin’ to cool off, these spots sound just right.
First off, there’s this place called Havasu Falls in Arizona. Heard it’s way out in some canyon, real pretty like. They call the folks livin’ there “Havasupai,” means “people of the blue-green water.” Sounds kinda magical, don’t it? Imagine jumpin’ into water that’s blue-green! Must be somethin’ else.
Then there’s this Tinago Falls in the Philippines. They call it “Hidden Falls,” so you know it’s gotta be special. It’s on some islands, Visayas they call ’em. I ain’t never been on no island, but I reckon it’s gotta be nice and warm there, perfect for a swim.

Now, up north in Canada, there’s this Grotto place. It’s in some park, Bruce Peninsula they say. They call it Cyprus Lake Grotto too. Sounds fancy, huh? Probably cold water up there, but on a hot day, that might just hit the spot.
Way over in Laos, there’s Kuang Si Falls. It’s in the jungle, can you believe it? Must be all kinds of critters and plants around there. I ain’t much for jungles, too many bugs and snakes for my likin’, but them falls sure look pretty in the pictures. Water comin’ down all over the place, like a big shower.
- Swimming in cool water is the best thing on a hot day, let me tell you.
- And if it’s a pretty place, well, that’s just a bonus.
- But you gotta be careful, you know? Water can be tricky. Don’t go jumpin’ in if you don’t know how deep it is.
Heard tell Costa Rica is full of rainforests and all sorts of critters. They got this Llanos de Corts waterfall there. Real stunner, they say. Waterfalls and rainforests…sounds like a place for adventurers, not old folks like me. But if you’re young and spry, go for it!
Then there’s this Lower McCloud Falls in California. They say it’s real popular for swimmin’. Guess folks like to cool off in the California sun. I ain’t never been to California, too far for my old bones. But I can imagine it now, cool water, sunshine, happy folks splashin’ around. Sounds like a good time.
Up in Maine, in the Hundred-Mile Wilderness, there’s Gulf Hagas. Lots of waterfalls and swimmin’ holes there, they say. Wilderness, huh? That means bears and such. You gotta be brave to swim there, I reckon. But if you like a bit of adventure, it might be just the place for ya.
And then there’s this Wonang Falls in Korea. Heard it’s got a real pretty blue pool at the bottom, real popular for swimmin’. Water’s always movin’ in a waterfall, so it stays clean, they say. Keeps the leaves and dirt movin’ out. And if you got one of them pools in your yard, the waterfall helps spread the chemicals around, keeps things balanced. Who knew, huh?
So there you have it, a whole bunch of waterfalls to swim in. I ain’t sayin’ I’ve been to any of ’em, but they sure sound nice. If you’re lookin’ to cool off this summer, maybe you oughta check one of these places out. Just remember to be careful, and don’t go jumpin’ into anythin’ you ain’t sure about. And if you see a bear, well, you better run the other way! That’s my advice, anyway. You take it or leave it.

Swimming in natural waters is different from a pool, you know. It’s got a different feel to it. It’s like…wilder. And that’s a good thing, I think. It reminds you that nature’s powerful, but it’s also beautiful. So if you get the chance to swim in a waterfall, don’t pass it up. Just be smart and stay safe.
I’m gettin’ tired just talkin’ about all this swimmin’. I think I’ll go sit on the porch and have a glass of lemonade. But you young folks, you go on out there and enjoy them waterfalls to swim. Life’s too short to stay dry.
