Okay, so I’ve been seeing “glamping” all over my Instagram feed, and I finally decided to give it a try. Guerneville, with its redwood forests and the Russian River, seemed like the perfect spot. Here’s how my little adventure went.
Finding the Perfect Spot
First things first, I needed to find a place. I spent a good few hours scrolling through different websites, checking out photos and reviews. I wanted somewhere that felt secluded but wasn’t too far from, you know, civilization (and coffee). I finally settled on this cute little place with canvas tents already set up – beds, rugs, the whole deal. It looked pretty cozy in the pictures, so I booked it!
Getting There and Settling In
The drive up to Guerneville was gorgeous. Seriously, winding roads, towering redwoods…it was breathtaking. When I got to the campsite, the host showed me to my tent. It was even better than the pictures! Really spacious, with a comfy queen-sized bed, some cute chairs, and even a little deck outside.

- Unpacked my stuff (mostly snacks, let’s be real).
- Changed into something more “outdoorsy” (yoga pants and a flannel).
- Explored the campsite a bit.
Exploring the Area
After settling in, I decided to check out the river. It was a short walk from the campsite, and the water was so clear and inviting. Even put my feet in water. I spent a good hour just sitting there, listening to the water and watching the sunlight filter through the trees. Pure bliss, I tell you.
Later, I drove into the little town of Guerneville. It’s super charming, with cute shops and restaurants. I grabbed a coffee and a pastry at this local bakery and just wandered around, soaking it all in.
Campfire and Stargazing
Back at the campsite, I decided to build a campfire. The host provided a pre-build fire pit and wood! After some struggles, I finally got a decent fire going. It was so relaxing, sitting there, watching the flames, and roasting marshmallows (a glamping essential, obviously). The best part, though, was the stargazing. With almost no light pollution, the sky was incredible. I saw so many stars, it was unreal.
Waking Up in Nature
Waking up in the tent was surprisingly comfortable. The bed was great, and the sounds of the birds chirping were way better than my usual alarm clock. I made some coffee on the little camp stove I brought, enjoyed the morning quiet, and just felt…refreshed. Seriously, it was like a reset button for my soul.
Packing Up and Heading Home
Packing up was a little sad, honestly. I didn’t want to leave! But, I felt so much better than when I arrived. Glamping in Guerneville was exactly what I needed – a little bit of nature, a little bit of luxury, and a whole lot of relaxation. I’m already planning my next trip back!
