Okay, so I wanted to try something new in the bedroom, and that included exploring anal play. But, I didn’t have any store-bought lube on hand. So, I started looking around to see what I could use as a substitute. This is what I tried, and how it went.
First Attempts: Oils
My first thought went to the kitchen. I figured, if it’s safe to eat, it should be somewhat safe, right? I grabbed the coconut oil.
- Coconut Oil: I warmed up a little bit in my hands to get it nice and liquid. It felt pretty good going on, smooth and slick. The smell was nice, too. It lasted a decent amount of time, but I did have to reapply once. Clean-up wasn’t too bad, just a bit oily.
Next, I remembered seeing something about olive oil, so I grabbed that from the kitchen too.

- Olive Oil: I tried the same thing as the coconut oil, warmed a bit up. This one was thinner, which was okay, but not as luxurious feeling. It didn’t last as long as the coconut oil, and I felt like I needed more of it. It also had a stronger, kind of food-like smell, which was a little distracting.
Moving to the Bathroom
Since the kitchen stuff was working ok, I decided to check the bathroom for other options.
- Aloe Vera: I use this stuff for sunburns, so I figured it was worth a shot. I got the kind that said it was 99% * was cool and a bit sticky at first, but it warmed up. I am not a big fan of how it felt.
The Aftermath
Overall, I’d say my homemade anal lube experiment had mixed results. My favourite is the coconut oil because it gave me a different experience.
