Okay, so my cliq chair, you know, the one that’s supposed to be super portable and comfy? Well, the rubber feet on the bottom were totally wrecked. I mean, falling apart, leaving marks on my floors – a real mess. I needed to replace them, and figured I’d share how it went down.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to figure out what kind of replacement feet I even needed. I looked closely at the old ones, I tried to observed them, and thought, “Yep, those are definitely shot.” It seems like it’s some kind of standard size, it looks like that.
The Replacement Process
- Wrestling with the Old Feet: These things were seriously stuck on. I grabbed a pair of pliers and started pulling and twisting. It took some effort, seriously, my hands hurt at last! Some of them just crumbled, making it even harder. A flathead screwdriver came in handy to pry off the really stubborn bits that were glued on.
- Cleaning Up the Mess: Once I got all the old rubber off, there was sticky residue and bits of old rubber everywhere. I used some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to scrub the metal legs clean. I wanted to make sure the new feet would have a good surface to stick to.
- Putting the New Feet On: Find the new rubber feet and put them on. Make sure every thing is OK, checking out whether the sizes is not correct or not.
The Final Result
The chair is rock solid now! No more wobbling, no more scratching my floors. It’s like a brand new chair, at least from the feet perspective. Seriously, if your cliq chair feet are busted, don’t throw the whole thing away. Just a little elbow grease and some new feet, and you’re good to go! It is much easier than I thought!
