Okay, so tonight was the night – fireworks night in Burbank! I’ve always loved a good fireworks show, and I heard Burbank puts on a pretty decent one. So, I decided to check it out and document the whole experience.
Getting Ready
First things first, I had to figure out where the best viewing spot was. I did a quick search online and found that the Starlight Bowl was the center of the action. Seemed like the obvious choice, but I also read it could get super crowded.
I’m not a huge fan of massive crowds, I thought about some alternative spots. I remembered there are some hills nearby, and you can get a good view of the valley. Maybe I could find a less packed spot with a similar view.

The Hunt for the Perfect Spot
I hopped in my car around 7 PM, It is still early enough, and the fireworks won’t start before 9 PM, I drove towards the hills. I tried a couple of different streets, looking for a place to park with a clear view. It was tricky! Lots of houses and trees blocking the way.
Finally, after a bit of searching, I found a somewhat decent spot on a residential street. It wasn’t perfect – a few rooftops in the way – but it was high enough to see over most of the valley, and there were only a few other people around. Score!
Waiting Game and the Show
I settled in and waited. I brought a blanket and a snack, so I was pretty comfortable. More people started showing up as it got darker, but it never got too crazy. It’s good to see so many families with kids!
Around 9 PM, the show started! It was pretty impressive. The fireworks were launched from the Starlight Bowl, and they lit up the entire sky. Lots of “oohs” and “aahs” from the small crowd around me.
- The Colors: They had all the classic colors, of course – reds, whites, blues. But they also had some cool ones, like vibrant greens and purples.
- The Shapes: There were the usual bursts and stars, but also some fun shapes like hearts and smiley faces.
- The Finale: The grand finale was huge! It was a massive barrage of explosions, and it went on for a good few minutes. Really spectacular!
The Aftermath
After the show ended, it was time to head home. Getting out of the area was a bit slow, with everyone leaving at the same time, but it wasn’t too bad. I just put on some music and chilled.
Overall, I’d say it was a successful fireworks-viewing mission! The show was great, and even though my spot wasn’t perfect, it was way better than fighting the crowds at the Starlight Bowl. Next year, I might try to scout out an even better spot, now that I know the lay of the land. But for tonight, I was pretty happy with my little hillside perch and the awesome display.
