Okay, so the Fourth of July is just around the corner, and I was thinking, “Why not plan a quick, cheap getaway?” I started by looking around for what’s on sale. I mean, who doesn’t love a good bargain, right? I saw that a lot of the big stores like Home Depot, Ulta, Best Buy, and Sephora still had some pretty sweet deals going on. Some items were marked down to like, eight bucks! Eight bucks! Can you believe that?
So, I started to make a list of things to do. First things first, find a place that wouldn’t break the bank. I thought about camping since it’s usually pretty cheap and a lot of fun.
Next, I needed to figure out what gear I was missing. I checked my old camping stuff and realized I was pretty low on soft tip dart points for our portable dartboard. We always bring that thing camping, it’s a blast! I found these “Viper 2BA Tufflex Tips” online, both the II and III versions, and they were a steal. Grabbed a bunch of those, so we’re good to go on the darts front.

I spent the next few days watching for price drops and comparing different campgrounds. It took some digging, but I managed to snag a really nice spot that was having a special Fourth of July discount. Score!
With the campsite booked, I started planning the fun stuff. We’re gonna have a cookout, of course. Burgers, hot dogs, the whole nine yards. I also thought it would be cool to do some hiking during the day. I found a few trails near our campsite that looked awesome in the pictures.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did to keep things cheap:
- Shop the Sales: Seriously, I can’t stress this enough. The deals around the Fourth of July are amazing.
- Camp Out: Way cheaper than a hotel, and in my opinion, way more fun.
- Bring Your Own Food: Eating out can get expensive fast. We’re packing our own food and drinks.
- Find Free Activities: Hiking, swimming, playing darts – all free and all fun.
So yeah, that’s how I planned my cheap Fourth of July getaway. It took a little bit of work, but it was totally worth it. We’re gonna have a blast without spending a fortune. Now, I just need to make sure I pack that bug spray, or it will be a very different story. I hope this gives you some ideas for your own budget-friendly Fourth of July!
