Okay, so, I was trying to mess around with the settings in Fortnite the other day, and I stumbled upon this thing called “Cosmetic Streaming.” Honestly, I didn’t even know what it was at first. But I did some digging cause I was kinda worried about my privacy.
Turns out, some folks might wanna turn this feature off. And I realized, hey, maybe I should too! So, I decided to figure out how to disable it.
Disable the Cosmetic Streaming
First, I launched Fortnite. You know, just the usual, clicked on the icon, waited for it to load up. Once I was in the main menu, I headed over to the settings. That little gear icon, you can’t miss it.

Then, I clicked on the “Settings” tab. It looks like a little person in a gear, It’s right at the top of the screen. After that, I scrolled down the list of options. There are a bunch of them, but I just kept going until I found “Cosmetic Streaming.”
Once I found it, I saw that it was toggled on. There’s a little switch next to it. All I had to do was click that switch to turn it off. It was pretty simple, actually.
Here’s a quick rundown:
- Launch Fortnite.
- Go to the settings menu.
- Click on the settings icon on the top right.
- Scroll down to “Cosmetic Streaming.”
- Toggle the switch to turn it off.
And that’s it! I successfully disabled Cosmetic Streaming. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Now I feel a bit better about my privacy while playing. I hope this helps someone else out there who’s also looking to do the same thing!
