Okay, so I’ve been experimenting a lot in the kitchen lately, and I gotta share this one thing I did with lemon pepper chicken. I’m not a chef or anything, just a regular guy who likes to cook, you know? Anyway, I wanted to figure out what really goes well with lemon pepper chicken cause I was tired of making the same thing over and over again, so today is about “what goes well with lemon pepper chicken”.
First, I made the lemon pepper chicken. It’s pretty simple, just chicken with lemon, pepper, and some other spices I had in the cupboard. Nothing fancy, but it always turns out great. The real question was, what to serve it with?
So, I thought, “What do I usually like with chicken?” And the first thing that popped into my mind was potatoes. I love potatoes. I decided to make some mashed potatoes but wanted to make them a bit special. I boiled the potatoes until they were soft, mashed them up with some butter and milk. So I threw in some minced garlic while they were cooking. The smell was amazing, let me tell you. The garlic mashed potatoes came out creamy and had that nice kick from the garlic, which I thought would match the tangy chicken. That’s a good try.

Here’s how I did the mashed potatoes:
- Boiled the potatoes
- Mashed them with butter and milk
- Added minced garlic during cooking
But I didn’t stop there. I also wanted something fresh and healthy, so I thought, why not a salad? But not just any salad. I had some quinoa at home, so I cooked that up. It’s super easy, just like cooking rice. While that was cooking, I chopped up some veggies – cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, whatever I had in the fridge. I mixed the cooked quinoa with the veggies and made a simple dressing with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. It was a warm salad cause the quinoa was still warm, and it was so good and so fresh.
For the salad, I basically:
- Cooked quinoa
- Chopped veggies
- Mixed them together
- Made a simple dressing
My Final Result
In the end, I had this plate with the lemon pepper chicken, a big scoop of garlic mashed potatoes, and a good portion of the quinoa and vegetable salad. It looked colorful and smelled fantastic. And let me tell you, it tasted even better. The chicken was all lemony and peppery, the mashed potatoes were creamy and garlicky, and the salad was fresh and had that nice crunch from the veggies. And I recorded the whole process! They all worked together so well. It felt like a complete, balanced meal. I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie. It’s amazing how just trying a few different things can make such a big difference. I’ll definitely be making this again. I hope you can try it too!
