Okay, so I was scrolling through the news today, and I saw this name “Ashley Wells Cox” pop up a lot. It got me curious, especially since it’s election season. I was like, “Who is this person, and what’s their deal?” So, I decided to dig in and see what I could find out about her political leanings.
First, I went straight to the usual sources. You know, the official campaign websites, candidate profiles, and all that stuff. She’s running for Circuit Judge in Florida’s 4th Circuit. Okay, cool. But here’s the thing – these judicial races are supposed to be non-partisan. That means they don’t tell you straight up if someone’s a Democrat, Republican, or whatever. So I had to put on my detective hat.
I started looking at who else was in the race. Turns out, her main opponent is Nancy Cleaveland. The election folks say this race is on the ballot for everyone in the three counties involved. But no party info, of course. That made me even more curious. Are there any clues to tell them apart?

Then, I stumbled upon some talk about money in this race. People were saying there were some big differences between the two candidates. That seemed important. And some folks were saying, based on their research, that Ashley Cox is a Democrat and Nancy Cleaveland is a Republican. But again, because it’s a judicial race, they can’t just come out and say it.
So, what did I do next? I started looking for patterns. I checked out where these candidates get their money. I also looked at any groups or organizations endorsing them. Sometimes, you can get a sense of someone’s politics by looking at who supports them, you know?
I also tried to find any past political activity. Like, did they donate to any political campaigns before? Did they ever run for office or get involved in any political groups? Sometimes, that can give you a hint about their leanings. And of course, I read a bunch of articles and social media posts to see what people were saying about them. This part was tricky, though, because you gotta filter out the noise and figure out what’s real and what’s just rumors.
After all this digging, I felt like I had a better idea of where Ashley Wells Cox might stand. While I can’t say for sure without her officially stating it, the clues I found seemed to point towards her being a Democrat. This whole process was like a puzzle. But I was happy that I spent the time to learn more. It’s always important to be informed, right? Especially when it comes to choosing who gets to be a judge. They make big decisions that affect people’s lives, so it’s worth doing your homework.
By the way, I am not saying to vote for one person or the other. I just wanted to share how I went about trying to learn more about her. It’s up to you to do your own research and make your own decisions! I hope this little adventure of mine helps someone out there. I think it’s so important to be informed and involved in the democratic process. Every vote counts, and every bit of knowledge helps us make better choices.
