Okay, here is my sharing about how to entertain my dog while I’m at work, hope it helps:
So, I’ve got this energetic pup, and leaving him alone while I’m at work used to be a real headache. I mean, I’d come home to chewed-up shoes, overturned trash cans, the whole nine yards. It wasn’t pretty. I knew I had to do something to keep him entertained and out of trouble while I was gone.
Morning Walkies
First things first, I started waking up a bit earlier to take him on a nice long walk. We’re not talking a quick dash around the block, either. I’m talking a good 30-minute power walk to really tire him out. I started doing this and noticed a huge difference. He’d be way more chill during the day.

Doggy Daycare Adventure
Now, I know not everyone can swing this, but on days when I knew I’d be super busy, I started sending him to doggy daycare. This was a game-changer. He got to play with other dogs all day, and I swear he came home happier than ever. If that’s not an option, maybe see if a friend or family member can watch him or hire a pet sitter. You know, it will do the job.
Toy Time
This is where things got fun. I went on a mission to find the most engaging toys out there. Puzzle toys are awesome. I fill them with treats, and he spends ages trying to get them out. Kongs are another lifesaver. I stuff them with peanut butter or yogurt and freeze them overnight. I also found these cool interactive toys that dispense treats when he plays with them. They keep him occupied for hours.

Lunchtime Love
If I can, I try to pop home during my lunch break. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, it makes a big difference. A quick cuddle, a little playtime, and he’s good to go for the rest of the afternoon. He loves the midday attention, and it breaks up his day nicely.
Comfy Zone
Making sure he had a comfy spot to chill was important too. I set up a cozy corner with his bed, some blankets, and his favorite toys. I also leave the TV or radio on low volume. It’s like, some background noise to keep him company. A nice environment will keep him calm, for sure.
Spying on My Pup
Okay, this one might sound a bit extra, but I got a pet camera. It’s actually pretty cool. I can check in on him throughout the day and even talk to him through the speaker. He seems to like hearing my voice, and it’s reassuring for me to see that he’s okay. I mean, I found this is the best way to stay connected with him when I am working.
So yeah, that’s my routine for keeping my dog entertained while I’m at work. It took a bit of trial and error, but we finally found a system that works for both of us. No more coming home to chaos, just a happy, tired pup who’s ready to relax with me in the evenings. It’s a win-win!
