Okay, so Vermont, right? Beautiful place. My family and I, we were looking for a chill spot, somewhere with mountains, trees, all that good stuff. We heard Vermont was the place to be for that, especially for families.
We started digging around, looking for resorts that had everything – food, activities, the whole nine yards. A couple of names kept popping up: The Equinox and Stoweflake Mountain Resort. Sounded fancy, but hey, we were on vacation!
First, we checked out The Equinox. Man, this place was huge! Golf, a spa…it felt like a small town. We explored the grounds, and it was really something. Old buildings, tons of history. They called it a “Vermont institution,” and I could see why. We enjoyed nice meals there, swam in the pool, and the kids loved running around the huge property. The staff was super friendly, always ready to help with anything. This place, it’s like stepping back in time, but with all the modern stuff you need.

- Huge property with lots to explore.
- Golf course and spa.
- Great food and friendly staff.
- Family-friendly with pools and activities.
Then there was Stoweflake. This place had a different vibe, more modern, I’d say. We went hiking on some nearby trails – the views were amazing. The air was so fresh, you know? And the spa there? Top-notch. We all got massages, even the kids! They had special treatments just for them. They had a huge indoor pool, which was perfect since it rained one day. The food was also good, a bit more upscale than The Equinox, but still kid-friendly.
- Amazing hiking trails nearby.
- Modern and clean facilities.
- Fantastic spa with treatments for everyone.
- Large indoor pool, great for rainy days.
Overall Impression
Both resorts were great, honestly. It really depends on what you’re looking for. The Equinox is your go-to if you want that old-school, grand hotel feel. Stoweflake is perfect if you prefer something a bit more modern and focused on wellness. Either way, Vermont is a winner for families. We made some great memories, and the kids are already asking when we can go back. We really enjoyed just being outdoors, breathing in that fresh mountain air. We spent hours just walking around, playing games, and enjoying each other’s company. It was a perfect getaway.
