Hey guys, it’s your boy here, back with another crazy experiment! Today’s topic is something I’ve been messing around with for a while now – inflatable dog houses. Yeah, you heard that right, blow-up cribs for your furry friends.
So, it all started a few weeks ago when I was planning this camping trip. I wanted to bring my golden retriever, Buddy, along, but I was dreading lugging his bulky, heavy crate all the way to the campsite. That thing is a pain to carry around, and it takes up so much space in the car. I needed to carry it to the campsite because it is a must-have item for the trip, and there was no way to avoid it. Then I was browsing around when I stumbled upon these inflatable dog beds, and I thought, “Why not an inflatable dog house?”
I did some digging, and it turns out they do exist! I ordered a few different models online to test them out. The first one I tried was this generic one. It came in this tiny little bag, which I was pretty stoked about. I unpacked it, hooked it up to the air pump, and boom – instant dog house! It inflated in like, two minutes. Buddy seemed to like it, he jumped right in and curled up.

- Easy to carry around, super light-weighted.
- Inflates and deflates in minutes.
- My dog loves it.
But, I wanted to see if there were any other options, so I tested a couple more. One was a bit fancier, with extra padding and even a little window. It felt sturdier than the first one, and it had these cool mesh panels for ventilation. Another one I tried was more like a tent, with a separate air mattress inside. It was the biggest of the bunch and felt the most like a traditional dog house. For the test, I tried to put them in my car to see whether they fit the car trunk. And they all did! I was so surprised that I didn’t need to do extra work to get them fitted. This made me so happy that my car trunk looked neat and clean with a lot of extra space left.
After trying them all out, I have to say I’m pretty impressed with these inflatable dog houses. They’re super convenient, especially for traveling or camping. I also found that they are solid, comfortable, and water-resistant after I did a water-resistant test on them. They pack down small, so they don’t take up much space, and they’re way lighter than traditional crates. Plus, Buddy seems to love them, which is the most important thing.
Of course, they’re not perfect. They’re probably not as durable as a hard-sided crate, so if you have a chewer, you might want to be careful. And they do require an air pump, so that’s one more thing to remember. And most importantly, I realized that I still needed a seatbelt or car crate to keep Buddy safe while driving. The inflatable dog house is just for when we get to our destination. But overall, I think they’re a great option for dog owners who are always on the go.
So, if you’re looking for a portable, lightweight dog house, I definitely recommend checking out the inflatable ones. They’re a game-changer! I will never go back to the old bulky crate. That’s it for today’s experiment, folks. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried these inflatable dog houses and what you think!
