Okay, so, today I wanted to dive into something that’s been on my mind lately – movies like “P.S. I Love You.” You know, that 2007 film with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler? It’s such a tearjerker but in, like, the best way possible. I got to thinking, what other movies give off that same vibe? A mix of romance, drama, maybe a bit of comedy, and definitely some tears.
So, I started by just re-watching “P.S. I Love You.” Felt all the feels again, naturally. Then, I hit up Google, typing in stuff like “”movies similar to P.S. I Love You”” and “”romantic dramas like P.S. I Love You.”” The usual, you know?
I made a list of the suggestions that popped up the most. There were some obvious ones like “The Notebook” and “A Walk to Remember.” I love those, but I was looking for some that I may not have seen yet, or at least not recently.

My Watchlist
- “Me Before You” (2016): This one came up a lot. I’ve heard of it but haven’t gotten around to watching it. It’s got Emilia Clarke, and the plot seems to involve a romance with a guy who’s paralyzed. Definitely seems like a tearjerker.
- “Sweet November” (2001): Okay, this one I’ve seen, but it was ages ago. Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron? I remember it being sad, but I need a refresher.
- “Step Up”(2006): This was a suggestion I saw because it is in the same year as the original movie. I might try this one as well.
I started with “Me Before You.” I grabbed some snacks, got cozy on the couch, and hit play. Guys, it was so good! But also, so sad. Emilia Clarke is amazing, and the story really got to me. There were some definite parallels with “P.S. I Love You” in terms of the emotional depth and the whole “love beyond loss” theme.
Next up, I decided to go with “Sweet November.” It was just as emotional as I remembered, but in a different way. The ending is bittersweet, but there’s a beauty to it. It definitely fits into the “P.S. I Love You” mold, I think.
I watched “Step Up” (2006) as well, but it was not that similar. It was a good movie, but not as romantic.
After these, I felt like I needed something a little lighter. I went with some classics I saw on other lists. I threw on “When Harry Met Sally” and “Sleepless in Seattle.” They were a nice change of pace. Still romantic, but with more of a comedic touch.
But something caught my eye online – apparently, there’s going to be a sequel to “P.S. I Love You” called “Postscript”! I got so excited! No idea when it’s coming out, but you bet I’ll be first in line to see it.
So, that’s been my little movie journey lately. It’s been fun exploring these films and rediscovering some old favorites. It’s amazing how movies can make you feel so much, right? If you have any other suggestions for movies like “P.S. I Love You,” let me know! I’m always looking for a good cry… I mean, a good movie.
