Okay, so I’ve always wanted to try glamping, you know, that fancy camping thing. And I finally did it! I went glamping in Northern California last weekend, and let me tell you, it was something else.
First off, I started by looking up places online. There were so many options, it was kind of overwhelming. I spent a good few hours just browsing and comparing different spots. Then I checked a few websites. I saw a lot of advertisements, and finally, I narrowed it down to a few places that looked really cool and had good reviews.
Next, I called up a couple of the places to get a feel for them. I talked to the people running the sites, asked about what they offered, and got some more details about pricing and availability. After weighing my options, I finally picked one that seemed perfect. It was a cute little spot by a river, with these awesome yurts they had set up.

Booking was a breeze. I just filled out a form online, paid the deposit, and boom, I was all set. They sent me a confirmation email right away, which was reassuring.
When the day finally arrived, I packed up my car with all the essentials: comfy clothes, some good books, snacks, and of course, bug spray. The drive up there was beautiful, all winding roads and trees.
I arrived at the glamping site, and it was even better than I expected. The yurt was so cozy and nicely decorated. It had a real bed, a little seating area, and even electricity! I settled in, unpacked my stuff, and just took it all in.
The Experience
- Explored the area: I went for a hike along the river, took a bunch of pictures, and just enjoyed the nature.
- Relaxed by the campfire: In the evenings, I sat by the fire pit, roasted some marshmallows, and stargazed. The sky was so clear; it was amazing.
- Slept like a baby: The bed was super comfy, and with the sounds of nature outside, I had the best sleep I’ve had in a long time.
Honestly, it was the perfect mix of being outdoors and still having some creature comforts. I felt so relaxed and refreshed after the weekend. I met some really nice people there too. We shared some stories around the campfire and just enjoyed each other’s company.
I packed everything up, and said goodbye to the beautiful place. I was kinda sad to leave, but I knew I’d be back. All in all, glamping in Northern California was an awesome experience. I’d totally recommend it to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy nature without sacrificing too much comfort. I definitely plan on doing it again soon!
