So, I wanted to find some movies like “Eat Pray Love” because, you know, that movie really got me thinking about life and travel and all that stuff. So I started digging around to see what else is out there that’s kind of similar.
My Search Started
First, I went straight to Prime Video since they mentioned “Eat Pray Love” was on there. I figured they might have a “If you liked this, you’ll love these” kind of section. And yeah, they did have some suggestions, but I wanted to go a bit deeper, you know? So, I started jotting down movie titles that seemed to fit the bill.
Digging Deeper
Next, I remembered hearing about this movie called “Under the Tuscan Sun”. I think it came out back in 2003. Everyone says it’s got that same vibe where someone just picks up and moves to a new place to start fresh. Sounds cool, right? I made a note to check it out.

- “Under the Tuscan Sun” – This one’s about a woman who buys a villa in Tuscany on a whim.
Then there was another one that popped up, “Nomadland”. It’s more recent, came out in 2020. It’s about a woman who travels around the American West after losing everything. Not exactly the same as Italy or Bali, but it’s still about finding yourself on the road, which is what I was looking for.
- “Nomadland” – A newer film about a woman traveling the American West.
Making My Watchlist
So, I started putting together this little watchlist. I wanted to keep track of these movies so I wouldn’t forget about them. I also made a few notes about what each movie was about, just to remind myself why I added them in the first place. I think this is a pretty good start, right? I have a feeling “Under the Tuscan Sun” might be the first one I watch, but “Nomadland” sounds really interesting too.
Sharing My Finds
Anyway, I thought I’d share what I found. Maybe someone else out there is looking for the same kind of movies. It’s always fun to discover new films, especially when they make you want to pack your bags and go on an adventure. Or, at the very least, make you think about your life a bit differently.
I kept searching and made notes, adding more movies to my list. I watched trailers and read reviews to get a better feel for each one. It was fun, like planning a trip, but instead of destinations, I was collecting stories.
Wrapping Up
In the end, I had a solid list of movies that all seemed to capture that spirit of adventure and self-discovery. I decided to start with “Under the Tuscan Sun” because it seemed the closest in tone to “Eat Pray Love”. I made some popcorn, got cozy on the couch, and pressed play. It was the perfect way to spend an evening, dreaming of Italian villas and new beginnings.
