Alright, so let’s talk about becoming a life member of Omega Psi Phi. I decided to go through this process, and man, it’s been quite a journey. I’ll walk you through what I did, step by step.
First thing I did was to figure out how to even start. I went online and saw that there’s this thing called the “Get Right Process.” Basically, it’s how you work with the fraternity folks and their headquarters to get your full membership sorted out. Sounded straightforward enough, right?
So, I jumped into creating an account. They said my username would be my email address, which made sense. I filled out all the info they asked for, hoping I didn’t mess anything up. I knew this account would be important if I got into Omega Psi Phi.

Next, I learned that I needed to be a financial member to get into the Omega Psi Phi Members’ website. I thought, “Okay, gotta pay to play.” I remembered I had a login from before, so I tried that. It worked, thankfully. But I made sure I was up to date with my dues because I didn’t want any hiccups there.
Now, I wasn’t super clear on all the Omega Psi Phi details, so I started looking for more info. I found out that each chapter has an Instagram page with contact info for their president and rush chair. That was super helpful. I reached out to them to get some specifics on what else I needed to do.
Then came the first login. I entered my details and, boom, I was in. It felt good to finally access all the resources and info on the members’ site. I could see what events were coming up, who was who, and all that good stuff.
I also stumbled upon this opportunity to get a Life Membership at a lower cost. They had this prize thing where the first place was an Omega Psi Phi Life Membership for just $2. I thought, “Why not?” and entered that. Seemed like a sweet deal if I could win it.
While I was exploring, I found out about this new mobile app just for members. I downloaded it right away. This app is great for connecting with other Brothers, updating my info, and staying in the loop. It’s pretty handy, I gotta say.
I also filled out the application for life membership. It was a bit of a form, but nothing too crazy. I made sure all my details were correct and submitted it. I felt a sense of accomplishment, like I was really making progress.
One thing I learned along the way is that Omega Psi Phi is open to all races and ethnicities. It was founded for Black men and still focuses on the Black community, but it’s inclusive. I think that’s pretty cool and important.

- Created an account using my email.
- Became a financial member to access the website.
- Found contact info through chapter Instagram pages.
- Logged in to the members’ site.
- Entered a contest for a Life Membership.
- Downloaded the members-only app.
- Filled out and submitted the life membership application.
Overall, it’s been a detailed process, but totally worth it. I’ve met some great people, learned a lot, and feel more connected to the fraternity. If you’re thinking about becoming a life member, I hope my experience gives you a good idea of what to expect. It’s a lot of steps, but each one brings you closer to being a full-fledged member of Omega Psi Phi.
