Alright, let’s gab about this e.l.f. stuff, ya know, the makeup everyone’s yappin’ about. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I’ve been around the block a few times, seen a thing or two, and I can tell ya what this e.l.f. thingy is all about, as far as I can tell.
First off, what does e.l.f. stand for? Well, some smarty-pants folks say it means Eyes Lips Face. Makes sense, I guess, since that’s what you put makeup on, right? Your eyes, your lips, and your face. But then I heard some folks sayin’ it also stands for paws and fins, or somethin’ like that. Sounds kinda fishy to me, but hey, maybe them city folks like makin’ things fancy. It don’t matter much to me, long as the stuff works and don’t cost an arm and a leg.
Now, why’s everyone makin’ such a fuss about this e.l.f. stuff? Well, seems like it’s cheaper than a sack of potatoes, and yet the young’uns on that TikTok thingy are always goin’ on about it. They say it’s good stuff, real good, and it don’t break the bank. That’s what I like to hear! I ain’t got money to throw around like them rich folks in town.
These e.l.f. people, they make all sorts of things. Stuff for your eyebrows, stuff to make your makeup stay put all day long, even creams and such for your face. I saw some of that “Halo Glow” stuff the other day, all shimmery and shiny. Looked like somethin’ a fairy princess might wear, not really my style, but the young girls, they love it. I reckon it makes them feel pretty, and that’s what counts, right? They say it’s one of the best products they got, and so many folks are buying it.
- Cheap as chips: That’s the main thing, see? It don’t cost a fortune. Back in my day, makeup was somethin’ only fancy ladies could afford. Now, even a regular gal like me can get a little somethin’ to spruce herself up.
- Good quality: I ain’t no expert, like I said, but from what I hear, this stuff is pretty darn good. Them makeup artists, the ones that paint the faces of them movie stars, they even use it sometimes. So, it must be alright.
- Lots of Choices: They got everything under the sun. Lipsticks, powders, eye shadows, you name it. Enough stuff to make your head spin.
- Animals are safe: This e.l.f. company, they don’t test their stuff on animals, which is a good thing. I don’t like the idea of hurtin’ critters just to make us look pretty. And they don’t put no nasty stuff in their makeup neither.
This e.l.f. brand, it ain’t been around forever, ya know. It started just a few years back, by some young fella who was just a student. Imagine that! A young whippersnapper startin’ a whole makeup company. He must’ve been a bright one. And now look at it, all big and famous. They even got those fancy ads on the internet, TikTok and what not. They got all them young folks doin’ dances and makin’ videos with their makeup. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya.
This TikTok thing is really somethin’. It seems like every time they put out somethin’ new, it blows up on that TikTok. The young’uns love it, and they all go out and buy it. Smart marketin’, I guess. Back in my day, we didn’t have no TikTok. We just had word of mouth, and maybe a newspaper ad now and then. But times change, I guess. And this e.l.f. company, they sure know how to keep up with the times.
What I really like about this e.l.f. is that it’s for everyone. They say it’s for “every eye, lip, and face,” and I believe it. You don’t gotta be young, you don’t gotta be fancy, you don’t gotta be rich. You can just be yourself, and use this makeup to feel a little bit better about yourself. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it? We all deserve to feel good, no matter who we are or where we come from. They say it is for “full-on maximalists to fresh-faced minimalists”, well, that means anyone and everyone can use it, right?
So, there you have it. That’s what e.l.f. stands for, as far as this old lady can tell. It’s cheap makeup, good makeup, and makeup for everyone. And it don’t hurt no animals, which is a big plus in my book. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go see if they got any of that eyebrow gel. My brows ain’t what they used to be, ya know. Time gets to us all, one way or another.
And one last thing, this company ain’t just makin’ waves here in the states, they are over there in the UK too, doin’ all sorts of campaigns for regular folks to enjoy. It seems like they are tryin’ to spread the word and let folks try their stuff, and that’s good, I say. The more the merrier. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
