Okay, so I wanted a killer 4th of July getaway, and New England seemed like the perfect spot. Classic Americana, right? I started digging around, looking for some inspiration.
Brainstorming and Research
First, I brainstormed what I wanted. Beach? Mountains? History? All of the above? New England’s got it all, so I needed to narrow it down. I spent some time looking at maps, reading articles, and seeing what caught my eye.
- I checked out some travel blogs.
- I looked at pictures on Instagram.
- I even asked some friends for recommendations.
Choosing the Destination
After some serious thinking, I decided on a coastal trip. The idea of beaches, lobster rolls, and fireworks over the water was just too good to pass up. Then it was time to settle on a specific area, and the options were a little overwelming.

Booking Accommodation and Activities
Once I picked my spot, it was time to book everything. I found a cute little inn online – nothing fancy, but it had good reviews and was close to the beach. That was the big one! I also looked into some activities, like maybe a whale watching tour or a sunset cruise. I made a list of a few possibilities, but didn’t book anything yet, wanting to keep things flexible.
Packing and Preparing
Next up: packing! I threw together a bunch of summer clothes – shorts, t-shirts, a swimsuit, and a light jacket for the evenings. I also packed sunscreen, a hat, and a good book for the beach. I made sure I had my camera and charger, and I downloaded some podcasts for the drive.
Enjoy The Trip!
All that was left do do was make sure I charged up my phone and camera, and get ready for the trip! This year’s 4th is going to be great!
