Okay, so I wanted to find some cool, secret swimming spots near me. You know, the kind that aren’t packed with tourists and screaming kids. I was craving a chill day in nature, just me and the water.
My Search Begins
First, I fired up my trusty laptop and started with a simple search. I typed in stuff like “hidden swimming holes,” “secret swimming spots,” and “natural pools.” I added “near me,” of course, but also tried some nearby towns and parks that I know have good hiking.
Digging Deeper
The initial results were kinda “meh.” Lots of general lists, top-ten articles, stuff like that. I needed to go deeper. I started checking out hiking blogs and forums. I figured, if anyone knows the secret spots, it’s the people who spend all their time exploring the trails. This worked pretty well!

- I looked at online groups.
- Then searched for some local hiking groups.
- I looked through posts for any mentions of swimming spots.
Narrowing It Down
I found a few promising leads from blog posts and map notes, so I started cross-referencing them. I used satellite view to get a look at the areas and see if they looked like they had potential.
I started to narrow it down! I wanted somewhere that wasn’t a super-long hike, but also wasn’t right next to a parking lot. A little bit of effort to get there usually means fewer crowds, right?
The Chosen Spot
After all that searching, I finally settled on a spot that seemed * was described in one of the blogs as being “off the beaten path” and having a “small, secluded pool” fed by a creek. Sounded perfect!
The Adventure
So, the next day, I packed a bag with a towel, sunscreen, snacks, and plenty of water. I headed out to the trailhead, feeling pretty excited. The hike in was beautiful! And the directions I’d found were pretty spot-on.
And there it was! A gorgeous little swimming hole, tucked away in the trees. The water was crystal clear and cool, and there was nobody else around. I spent the whole afternoon swimming, relaxing on the rocks, and just enjoying the peace and quiet. Totally worth the effort of finding it!
It felt like a good journey, and something that others may want to do as well!.
