Okay, so I’ve been wanting to share my little Paris food adventure for a while now. Everyone knows about the famous bistros and Michelin-starred places, but I was on a mission to find some real, under-the-radar gems. So, I started by ditching the usual tourist guides.
Scouring the Web and Asking Around
First, I spent hours scrolling through local Parisian blogs – the ones written in French, you know? I used Google Translate like it was going out of style. I also hit up some online forums where expats and locals were chatting about their favorite neighborhood spots. I figured, who better to ask than the people who actually live there, right?
Then, I started chatting with people. I mean everyone. My Airbnb host, the guy at the corner bakery, even the lady selling flowers at the market. I just straight-up asked them, “Where’s your favorite place to eat around here? The kind of place you wouldn’t necessarily tell a tourist about?”

Mapping It Out and Hitting the Streets
I jotted down every single recommendation, even the ones that sounded a little weird. Then, I pulled up Google Maps and started plotting them out. I quickly realized that most of these places were way off the beaten path, in neighborhoods I’d probably never have stumbled upon otherwise.
My next step? Just walking. Lots and lots of walking. I explored those little side streets, peeked into windows, and sniffed the air for delicious smells. (Seriously, that’s how I found one amazing place – the smell of roasting chicken just pulled me in!).
The Delicious Discoveries
I followed my instincts, my nose and local recommendations. I finally realized a few hidden gems restaurants.
It was all worth it, because I ended up eating some of the best, most authentic Parisian food I’ve ever had.
