Okay, so I’ve been seeing bucket hats everywhere lately, and I finally decided to jump on the trend. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off, but I figured, why not give it a shot? Here’s how it went.
Finding the Right Bucket Hat
First things first, I needed a hat. I didn’t want anything too crazy, so I started by looking for a pretty basic, solid-colored one. I scoured several stores. Some were too floppy, some were too stiff, and some just looked plain weird on my head.
- Tried on a denim one – looked like I was about to go fishing.
- Found a corduroy one – felt too wintery for this weather.
- Saw a bright yellow one – way too bold for me.
Finally, I found a simple black cotton bucket hat. It felt comfortable, and the brim wasn’t too wide. I decided that’s my style.

Styling the Bucket Hat
Now for the fun part – figuring out what to wear with it! I rummaged through my closet, trying to create some different looks.
My first attempt was with a plain white t-shirt and some high-waisted jeans. I added some sneakers, and it actually looked pretty cool! It was casual, but the bucket hat gave it a little something extra. It’s simple!
Then, I tried it with a floral sundress. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I think the contrast between the girly dress and the more casual hat worked. I threw on some sandals, and it felt like a perfect summer outfit.
I even experimented with wearing it with a slightly more dressed-up outfit – a black jumpsuit and some chunky heels. I wasn’t totally sure about this one, but it definitely made a statement.
The Verdict
After a day of playing dress-up, I’m officially a bucket hat convert! It’s surprisingly versatile, it is easy to match with lots of looks. I’m definitely going to be wearing it a lot this summer. I suggest everyone should get one!
