Okay, so I’ve been seeing duck boots everywhere lately, and I finally caved and got a pair. I was a little stumped on how to style them at first, but after some experimenting, I’ve found a few go-to outfits that I absolutely love.
My Duck Boot Journey
First, I grabbed a pair of classic brown and tan duck boots. I figured these would be the most versatile. Then, I started rummaging through my closet to see what would work.
Outfit Experiments
- Attempt 1: Skinny jeans and a chunky sweater. This was a no-brainer. I tucked my jeans into the boots, threw on a big, cozy sweater, and it looked pretty good! It’s comfy and perfect for a casual day.
- Attempt 2: Leggings and a long tunic. This was another win. The leggings fit nicely into the boots, and the long tunic provided some coverage. I added a scarf for extra warmth and style.
- Attempt 3: Tried to be too fancy, so failed. Don’t do it.
- Attempt 4: A flannel shirt and a vest. Okay, this was my favorite! I wore a red and black flannel shirt, layered a quilted vest over it, and paired it with dark-wash jeans. It felt very “outdoorsy” but still put-together.
Final touches!
I realized some little details also matter, so I also paid attention to the socks I wore.

Finally, I found that simple, classic pieces work best. Don’t overthink it! Duck boots are pretty casual, so embrace that vibe. My experience makes me think It’s all about finding what makes you feel comfortable and confident.
