Okay, let’s talk about my quest for the perfect Yosemite getaway – specifically, a cabin with a hot tub!
It all started with a serious need for some R&R. I was stressed, overworked, and dreaming of mountains and fresh air. Yosemite was the obvious choice, but I wanted more than just a basic cabin. I wanted that extra touch of luxury: a hot tub under the stars.
So, I dove into research mode. I spent hours scrolling, comparing, and reading reviews. I quickly learned that finding a cabin inside Yosemite National Park with a private hot tub is like finding a unicorn. They’re super rare! Most of the options are outside the park, in nearby towns.

Narrowing Down the Options
I focused my search on areas like Yosemite West, Groveland, and Mariposa. These spots are close enough to the park for easy day trips, but offer way more lodging choices.
- Yosemite West: Super convenient, literally just outside the park’s south entrance. But, because of that, prices tend to be higher.
- Groveland: A charming little Gold Rush town, a bit further out, but with a more laid-back vibe and (sometimes) better deals.
- Mariposa: Another historic town, also a bit of a drive, but with its own unique charm and some cool cabin rentals.
I pored over countless listings. I made a spreadsheet – yes, I’m that person – to keep track of prices, amenities, and distances to the park entrance. I read tons of reviews, looking for mentions of hot tub cleanliness, privacy, and views.
One thing I quickly realized is that “hot tub” can mean different things. Some places had shared hot tubs, which wasn’t what I was after. I wanted my own private soak zone! I made sure to filter my searches accordingly.
After many hours, I finally narrowed it down to a few promising cabins. Some had rustic charm, others were more modern, but all boasted private hot tubs and decent proximity to Yosemite.
Booking and the Actual Stay.
I ended up choosing a cozy cabin just outside Groveland. It had a beautiful deck with a hot tub overlooking the forest, it was amazing!
The drive was smooth, check-in was easy, and the moment I slipped into that hot tub after a long day of hiking, I knew I’d made the right choice. Pure bliss! Stargazing from the hot tub was a definite highlight.

My biggest piece of advice? Book way, way in advance! Especially if you’re going during peak season, these cabins with hot tubs get snatched up quickly. And don’t be afraid to dig a little – sometimes the best finds are a bit off the beaten path.
