Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “headstone tree of life” designs popping up everywhere, and I finally decided to give it a shot myself. I wasn’t really sure where to start, to be honest, so I just started gathering some stuff I thought I’d need.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed some paper, I wanted something to first draw on it . I found some online, that matched what i needed. It took me a while to trace it so it can be printed on a paper.
- Paper: Found some online.
- Pencil :For tracing .
The Messy Middle Part
After finding the materials, I decided to first draw the tree on paper. It was a bit tricky at first because I’m not the best artist, I wanted to make sure I had the basic shape down. I messed up a few times , erasing and redrawing branches until it looked halfway decent. I think it took me a few tries to get the roots to look right, too – they kept ending up looking like weird squiggles instead of, you know, roots.

Then came the leaves, I started to draw them, it took me sometime, After a few attempts, I managed to draw some simple shapes. Once it looked decent, I decided to finish it.
The Final Result
It’s not perfect, but hey, I made it! It definitely has that “handmade” charm, I think. Overall, this little project was a fun way to spend an afternoon. If you’re thinking of trying it, I’d say go for it! Just be prepared for a little trial and error, and don’t expect perfection. The process is part of the fun, right?
