Okay, so I decided to plan a surprise getaway for my anniversary. Newport Beach seemed perfect – sun, sand, and hopefully some romance! Here’s how I went about finding the perfect romantic hotel.
Digging into Options
First, I jumped online. I started by searching stuff, just to get a feel for what was out there. I looked through a bunch of those travel sites. You know, the big ones. They had lists, but it was kind of overwhelming. So many hotels!
Narrowing It Down
I knew I wanted something special. Not just any hotel. I was thinking:

- Amazing views – oceanfront was a must!
- A nice vibe – something cozy, maybe with a fireplace.
- Good food nearby – because, well, food is important!
- Not crazy expensive– I have a budget here!
So, I started filtering my searches based on those things. I read tons of reviews. Seriously, tons. I wanted to see what other couples thought, if they found places romantic, or if there were any hidden problems.
Checking Out The Hotels
I made a shortlist of a few hotels that seemed to fit the bill. Then, I went to the hotels’ actual websites. I looked at their photos – did they look as good as the other sites? I checked out their room descriptions. Did they have any special packages for couples? I also looked at the location to the beach.
Making the Choice
After all that, I finally picked one that seemed just perfect. It had a balcony overlooking the ocean, a fireplace in the room, and great reviews about the restaurant. It was a little bit of a splurge, but hey, it’s our anniversary! Then I called the hotel directly, I always have more confidence after I talk with somebody.
Fingers Crossed!
I booked the room. Now I just have to keep it a secret until the big day! Wish me luck – I hope she loves it!
