Okay, here’s my blog post about my “sea life decor” project, written in the style you requested:
So, I’ve always loved the ocean, the whole vibe of it, you know? And I’ve been wanting to bring a little bit of that into my place for a while now. I finally decided to just go for it and do a whole “sea life” theme in my living room. I didn’t want it to be cheesy, like, you know, plastic starfish stuck everywhere. I wanted it to be cool, and chill, but still, like, you could tell I was going for that ocean feel.
First thing I did was start looking for inspiration. I just started saving pictures of stuff I liked – colors, textures, you name it. Mostly it was like, shades of blue and green, sandy colors, that sort of thing.

Color Palette
- Blues: I used a few different blues, from a light, almost sky blue, to a deeper, darker blue like the deep ocean.
- Greens: More like seafoam green, you know, not like, bright, grassy green.
- Sandy Beige: This was for, like, balance. Gotta have some neutrals, right?
I started painting one of the walls. I thought about this long and hard. I ended up using that light blue, the sky blue one, cause it made the room feel bigger and brighter. Then, I got this big piece of driftwood, all gnarly and awesome, from a shop. I hung that up on the wall, kind of like a centerpiece. I thought it would be better than a typical picture. And it smells nice. You can smell the ocean.
Next, I got some new throw pillows. I found these ones with a cool texture, kind of like coral. They’re super soft, too. Then I ordered a new rug online, a big one. It’s mostly that sandy beige color, but it’s got some blue mixed in, kind of like waves. You can’t really tell from far away but up close, it’s a cool effect.
I messed around with some smaller stuff after that. I found these glass jars and filled them with sand and some shells I’d collected over the years from the beach. It’s all coming together in my mind.
Then, the last thing I did was, I got some new curtains. They’re sheer white, so they let in a lot of light, but they’ve got this subtle wave pattern on them. They’re pretty cool. I am thinking about changing them to blue but I am not sure yet.
And yeah, that’s pretty much it! It took a while, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s not over-the-top, but it definitely has that ocean feel that I was going for. My friends came over the other day and they loved it, too. They said it was really relaxing. I might add a few more things here and there, but for now, I’m just gonna enjoy it. Maybe I’ll even get some fish, that would be great.
