Okay, so, let’s talk about jeans. Finding the right pair can be a real pain, right? I mean, I’ve spent hours in dressing rooms trying on pair after pair, only to leave empty-handed and frustrated. But recently, I decided to really figure this whole “how should jeans fit” thing out, and boy, was it a journey!
Start from zero
First thing I did was throw out all my old, ill-fitting jeans. Yeah, it was tough, but necessary. I was starting from scratch. Then, I went to a bunch of different stores, not just my usual go-tos. I wanted to see what a wide range of brands had to offer. I grabbed a ton of different sizes and styles in each store – skinny, straight, bootcut, you name it.
Try on
The dressing room became my second home. I tried on each pair and really paid attention to how they felt, not just how they looked. I walked around, sat down, bent over – you know, all the stuff you do in real life. It’s amazing how different jeans can feel when you’re actually moving in them.

- Waist: This was a big one. I realized I’d been wearing jeans that were either too tight or too loose. I made sure to find ones where I could comfortably fit two fingers in the waistband, but not my whole hand.
- Hips and Thighs: I have curves, so I needed jeans that hugged my hips without squeezing them to death. I did a lot of squats and lunges in the dressing room to make sure there was enough give in the fabric.
- Length: This one was tricky. I’m not super tall, so I often have to get jeans hemmed. I tried on different lengths and figured out what worked best with the shoes I wear most often.
- Overall Look: I learned to ignore the size on the label and focus on how the jeans made me feel. Did they make me feel confident? Did they flatter my shape? These were the questions I asked myself.
Found it!
After what felt like weeks, I finally found a few pairs that fit like a dream! It was like a lightbulb moment. Now, I have a better idea of what to look for, and I can spot a good-fitting pair much more easily. I’m not saying it’s always a breeze, but it’s definitely gotten easier. I kept trying and trying, and boom, I found it. This was the most important thing I found.
The whole process was honestly a bit of a pain, but totally worth it. I feel so much more comfortable and confident in my jeans now. It’s like a whole new world has opened up. My jeans are now my favorite.
