Okay, so I’ve been seeing black ankle boots everywhere lately and I finally decided to give them a try with dresses. I wasn’t sure how it would go, but I was ready to experiment!
Trying Different Dresses
First, I went through my closet and picked out a few different dresses to try. I grabbed a short, flowy floral dress, a midi-length bodycon dress, and a longer, more formal maxi dress. I wanted to see how the boots would look with different styles and lengths.
- Floral Dress: I put on the floral dress first. It’s got a real girly vibe, so I was curious to see if the boots would clash. I slipped on the boots and… it was actually kinda cute! The boots added a bit of an edge to the sweet dress.
- Bodycon Dress: Next up, the bodycon. This one is a bit more sleek and sexy. I put on the boots, and I have to say, I felt pretty confident! The boots complemented the dress really well, making the whole look a bit more modern.
- Maxi Dress: Lastly, the maxi dress. This one was the trickiest. I tried it on with the boots, and at first, it felt a little off. The boots felt too heavy for the long, flowing dress. But then, I tried cuffing the boots a little, and it made a big difference! It looked much better, a little more casual and laid-back.
Playing with Accessories
After trying the dresses, I decided to play around with some accessories. I added a leather jacket to the floral dress and boots combo, and it instantly made the outfit more cohesive. For the bodycon dress, I put on a statement necklace, which added a touch of elegance. And for the maxi dress, I threw on a wide-brimmed hat to complete the look.

Final Verdict
Overall, I was pretty happy with how the black ankle boots looked with the dresses. It took a bit of trial and error, and a bit of confidence. I found out that different styles of boots work better with different dresses. But in the end, I found some combinations that I really liked, and I even discovered a few new outfits that I’m excited to wear out! It’s all about experimenting and finding what works for you!
