So, it was getting to be that time of year again – you know, when the cold starts to really get to you? I was totally feeling it. I figured, why not look into some warm spots to hit up in December right here in the US? I mean, who wouldn’t want to ditch the cold for a bit, right?
First thing I did was fire up my laptop and start poking around. Just some casual searching, nothing too intense. I was mostly looking for places that wouldn’t require me to sell a kidney to afford them. And, obviously, they had to be warm. The whole point was to escape the winter chill, after all.
I stumbled upon this list of like, 20 places that seemed pretty cool, and warm. Most of them were down south, which made sense, or in Hawaii, which sounded amazing. So I started digging into each one, starting with San Diego, California. High 66 / low 50. It seemed like a good place to start, not too hot, not too cold.
I jotted down some notes about each place, like what kind of stuff there was to do there that wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’m all about those free or cheap activities, you know? Like, beaches are usually a good bet – they’re free and relaxing. But then again that requires a good temperature so i also searched for places like St Croix, US Virgin Islands. Average temp: high 82. That’s more like it.
My List
After a few hours of this, I had a pretty decent list going. Here’s some of the place i noted:
- San Diego, California – It’s not boiling, but definitely warmer than where I was. Plus, beaches!
- St Croix, US Virgin Islands – Now this sounds like a proper winter escape.
I kept going like that, looking up average temperatures, free things to do, all that jazz. It was actually kind of fun, planning out these little potential getaways. It gave me something to look forward to, you know?
By the end of it, I had a solid plan for a warm December vacation. Or at least, a solid starting point. I figured I’d share it here because, why not? Maybe it’ll give someone else some ideas. Plus, it’s always nice to have a little something to dream about when it’s freezing outside. The thought of being somewhere warm, not having to wear a million layers, that’s a nice thought, right?
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in planning a warm winter escape. It’s not much, but it made me feel a bit better about the cold weather. And hey, maybe I’ll actually get to go to one of these places. That would be pretty sweet.
