Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another life-saver. So, picture this: I had to take a flight with my little guy, just turned one. Yeah, a one-year-old on a plane, sounds fun, right? It was a bit of a journey, to say the least, but we made it through, and I’m here to share how.
Prep Time
First things first, I checked all the necessary documents for my baby. I mean, do you know what kind of ID is needed for an infant on a plane? Luckily, kids under 16 don’t need an ID, but I made sure to double-check the airline’s policy just in case. Better safe than sorry, am I right?
The Flight
Once we were on board, it was game time. I packed a whole bunch of things to keep the little man entertained. We’re talking about anything that makes noise, lights up, or can be chewed on. You know, the essentials. I also downloaded some of his favorite shows on my tablet. Thank goodness for technology, huh?

But let’s be real, screens can only do so much for a toddler’s attention span. So, I also brought along some simple games.
- I played peek-a-boo.
- I sang songs.
- We walked up and down the aisle a few times (when it was safe to do so, of course).
- I even made silly faces, which, to my surprise, worked like a charm.
Let me tell you, it was exhausting. But seeing his little face light up with a giggle made it all worth it. Plus, a happy baby means a less stressful flight for everyone around, and that’s always a win.
The Aftermath
We landed, and guess what? We survived! It wasn’t a walk in the park, but with a bit of planning and a lot of patience, we made it through. And now I have this funny story to tell. It’s a win for this dad!
So, there you have it. Flying with a one-year-old isn’t as scary as it sounds. It’s all about being prepared and keeping a good sense of humor. Trust me, if I can do it, so can you!
Hope this helps some of you out there. Catch you guys on the next one!
