So, the weather’s been absolutely scorching lately, and all I could think about was finding a cool place to escape the heat. I remembered someone mentioning waterfalls with swimming holes, and I thought, “That’s it! That’s what I need.”
I grabbed my phone and started searching for “waterfalls with swimming holes near me.” I was hoping I might have seen a few results and there were!
I browsed through a few different websites. Some were really helpful, with photos and descriptions of the waterfalls. I saw a few that caught my eye. One place, called Wonang Falls, looked particularly inviting. The pictures showed a wide waterfall cascading into a clear, blue pool. People were swimming and laughing, and it looked like the perfect spot to cool off and then I decided to go to there.

Get to the waterfalls
I planned my trip, packed a bag with my swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Oh, and snacks, of course! I didn’t want to get hangry while enjoying nature’s beauty. I checked the directions, and it seemed like a pretty straightforward drive.
The drive to the falls was actually quite scenic. I passed through some charming small towns and rolling hills. After a couple of hours, I finally arrived at the parking lot. I could hear the roar of the waterfall even before I saw it, which got me super excited. I parked my car, grabbed my bag, and followed the trail leading to the falls.
The trail was well-maintained, but it was a bit of a hike. I didn’t mind, though. The anticipation of reaching the waterfall kept me going. And let me tell you, the first glimpse of Wonang Falls was breathtaking. It was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The water was crystal clear, and the pool at the bottom looked so inviting. There were already a few people swimming and having fun. Some brave souls were even jumping from the rocks into the pool! I could feel the mist from the waterfall on my skin, and it was so refreshing.
Swimming time
I quickly changed into my swimsuit and wasted no time jumping into the cool water. It felt amazing after the hot hike. I swam around, floated on my back, and just enjoyed the feeling of being surrounded by nature. I even made some new friends, we were chatting and laughing with other people who were there to escape the heat. I spent a good few hours at the falls, swimming, relaxing, and taking in the scenery.
- The water was so refreshing, like, seriously cold but in the best way possible.
- The mist from the falls felt like a natural air conditioner.
- The people there were really enjoying it.
- I’m going to check out those other waterfalls, too.
As the sun started to set, I knew it was time to head back. I changed back into my clothes, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It was the perfect day trip, and I’m so glad I decided to go. It’s these little adventures that make life so much fun, right? I’m already planning my next waterfall adventure. There were a few other spots I found during my search, like Havasu Falls and Tinago Falls, that looked amazing. I might have to make a whole trip out of it! Anyway, if you’re looking for a way to beat the heat and experience something beautiful, I highly recommend checking out some waterfalls with swimming holes. You won’t regret it!
