Alright, so, Mendocino, right? Heard a lot about it, finally decided to check out those beaches everyone’s always talking about. Packed my bags, grabbed my camera, and off I went.
First stop was this place called Glass Beach. Now, I’d seen pictures, but being there in person was wild. All these smooth, colorful glass pebbles mixed in with the regular sand. It’s like the whole beach is covered in tiny, shiny jewels. Spent hours just walking around, snapping pics, and picking up some of the really cool pieces. It’s one of the most popular destinations of Mendocino coast, so I took a lot of photos there. People say it’s a good place for budget-friendly travel, which I think is true.
Then I hit up Big River Beach, part of Mendocino Headlands State Park. This place is huge! The beach goes on forever, and there’s this big river flowing right into the ocean. Walked along the shore, watched some folks kayaking, and just enjoyed the vastness of it all. It was pretty chill, not too crowded, which I liked.

- The next one was MacKerricher State Park.
- Man, this place has everything! Beaches, dunes, grasslands… I even saw some seals chilling on the rocks.
- Hiked around a bit, checked out the tide pools, and took a ton of photos of the wildlife.
Oh, and I also stopped by Van Damme State Park. Super cool place, not too crowded, and easy on the wallet. Also walked around some part of Noyo Headlands Park and Gualala Point Regional Park, each one has its own vibe. Also went through Manchester Beach, I think I saw nearly 18 miles of beach, sand dunes, and grasslands. All in all, those beaches in Mendocino? Totally lived up to the hype. Beautiful, relaxing, and each one’s got its own unique thing going on. Definitely worth the trip!
