Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another adventure. This time, I hit up Storrs Lake in Wisconsin. I’d heard some good things about it, so I figured, why not? Let’s dive in.
First off, getting there was pretty straightforward. I just plugged in 4332 E County Rd O, Janesville, WI 53546 into my GPS and it took me right to the general area. No fuss, no muss. It’s out in Milton, which is a chill little town. Once I got there, I realized this place is huge – over 700 acres of all kinds of nature stuff, I saw they say it’s over 1,100 acres online, maybe I missed some parts of it! I was excited.
I started my exploration by checking out the lake itself. This place seems popular, I guess there will be an annual candlelight hike in winter. It’s a pretty decent size, and I saw a few folks fishing on the banks. I’m not much of a fisherman myself, but I could tell it was a good spot. There are some woodlots around, and it looked like it could be a good place to relax.

After the lake, I decided to hit the trails. I love a good walk, and Storrs Lake has plenty of trails to offer. I opted for one of the easier ones because, let’s be real, I’m not trying to win any awards out here. Plus, I wanted to take it easy and enjoy the scenery. And boy, was the scenery something else!
- The grasslands were vast and beautiful.
- There are wetlands nearby.
- Lots of trees and plants, a haven for wildlife, I presume.
- A sandy beach area on the lake, which looked inviting.
I spent a good chunk of the day just wandering around, taking pictures, and soaking it all in. There’s something about being out in nature that just clears your head, you know? I even saw a couple of families having picnics and enjoying the day. It’s definitely a family-friendly spot. I know that Ice Age Trail Alliance has evening hikes here. I think that sounds really interesting, and maybe I’ll come back sometime.
By the time the sun started to set, I was pretty beat. But in a good way! I grabbed a snack from my bag – always prepared, folks – and headed back to my car. All in all, Storrs Lake is a solid spot if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, with a side of nature. I’d definitely recommend it.
Oh, and before I forget, I noticed a sign about “Protect Wisconsin Waterways.” So, if you do visit, make sure to clean up after yourself and keep this place beautiful for everyone. I’ve heard that Lake Geneva is also great. I’m going to check out some information about that.
My final thought
Storrs Lake is good and worth checking out. I’ll probably be back, maybe with my fishing rod next time. Until next time, folks, stay adventurous!
