Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another deep dive into the beauty world! Today, I wanted to tackle a question that’s been on my mind, and I’m sure many of you have wondered about it too: “Is ColourPop Cosmetics cruelty-free?”
So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. First thing I did? I went straight to the source – the ColourPop website. I figured, who better to ask than the brand itself, right?
I started poking around their FAQ section, looking for any mention of animal testing or cruelty-free practices. I found some promising statements like, “We are extremely proud to be cruelty free! No outside company tests on animals for us, and none of our suppliers test on animals.” That’s a good sign!

But I didn’t stop there. I’m a thorough guy, so I wanted to see if they had any certifications or affiliations with organizations that advocate for cruelty-free cosmetics. I mean, anyone can say they’re cruelty-free, but it’s always good to have some backup, you know?
I noticed they mentioned having a “Cruelty Free emblem” on their products. Sounds interesting, but I needed more info. I dug a bit deeper and found that they are included in some cruelty-free directories. This means they’ve met certain criteria and standards to be considered truly cruelty-free.
- They don’t test their finished products on animals.
- They don’t test their ingredients on animals.
- Their suppliers don’t test on animals.
- They don’t hire any third parties to test on animals on their behalf.
But then I started wondering about their parent company. Sometimes, even if a brand itself is cruelty-free, the parent company might not be. After some more digging, I found out that ColourPop is not owned by any parent company that tests on animals. Whew, that’s a relief!
I also wanted to check if ColourPop was vegan. Well, it turns out they’re cruelty-free, but not 100% vegan. So, some of their products might contain animal-derived ingredients. Good to know for all my vegan friends out there!
And just for kicks, I decided to check out another brand, POPbeauty, to see where they stood. Turns out, they’re proud to be 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and they don’t allow any animal testing by themselves or their suppliers. That’s pretty awesome!
So, after all this digging and researching, I can confidently say that ColourPop is indeed cruelty-free. They don’t test on animals, their suppliers don’t, and they’re not owned by a company that does. That’s a big win in my book!
But it’s important to remember that they’re not entirely vegan, so if you’re looking for vegan products, you’ll have to check the individual product ingredients.

Alright, that’s all for today’s investigation. I hope this deep dive was helpful and informative. Until next time, stay beautiful and stay informed!
