Hey everyone, it’s your old buddy back again with another travel story. So, December’s rolling around, and you know what that means – time for a getaway! But like many of you, I’m not exactly rolling in dough. So, I thought, “Why not find a cool place to visit that won’t empty my wallet?”
First thing I did? Hit the internet, of course. I typed in something like “cheap destinations in December” and started browsing. There’s a ton of info out there, but it can be a bit overwhelming. I saw mentions of Prague, with its Christmas markets, and some warm places like Goa, Thailand, and even Key West in Florida. It got me thinking about what I really wanted from this trip.
I started digging a little deeper into each place. Like, what’s the vibe? What can you actually do there? For example, I found out that December is part of the low season in Prague, which means fewer crowds and better deals. And Key West? Sounds perfect for escaping the cold with its warm weather and beaches.

Then I started looking at the practical stuff. How much are flights? What about hotels or hostels? I compared prices, looked at different airlines, and checked out various accommodation options. It’s a bit of a puzzle, but it’s kind of fun putting it all together. I even checked the activities you could do there, like someone mentioned camel rides in Maspalomas, which seems like a unique experience.
After a few days of this, I narrowed it down to a few spots that seemed both interesting and affordable. I made a list of pros and cons for each, considering things like the cost of living, the weather, and the activities available. This helped me get a clearer picture of what each destination offered.
Finally, I made my decision. Drum roll, please… I decided to go to Southeast Asia! Vietnam and Cambodia caught my eye. They’re known for being budget-friendly, and there’s so much to see and do – temples, markets, amazing food, you name it. Plus, the weather in December is pretty nice.
- Flights: Booked in advance to get a good deal.
- Accommodation: Found some nice hostels and budget hotels.
- Activities: Made a list of must-see places and free activities to save money.
So there you have it. That’s how I planned my December trip without breaking the bank. It took a bit of research and planning, but that’s half the fun, right? I’m super excited about this trip, and I’ll definitely share my adventures with you all when I get back. Stay tuned!
