Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s talk about them horoscopes, the ones that Yasmin Boland woman writes about. I ain’t no fancy scholar or nothin’, but I reckon I can tell ya a thing or two about what she’s jabberin’ on about.
Now, Yasmin, she goes on and on about broadenin’ your horizons. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But what she means is, look around ya, don’t just stare at the dirt all day! Maybe try lookin’ up at the sky once in a while, see them stars. They say them stars got somethin’ to do with our lives, I don’t know, maybe they do, maybe they don’t. But it don’t hurt none to think about it.
She says we’re recoverin’ from some “gnarly astrology.” Gnarly? That just means things been tough, y’all. Like when the chickens get into the garden, or the well runs dry. Life throws ya curveballs, that’s for sure. But Yasmin, she says we’re startin’ new cycles too. That means things are gonna change. Maybe for the better, maybe not. But change is comin’, like it or not.
- She talks about findin’ your destiny. Destiny? That’s a big word. Means where you’re headed, I guess. Like, are you gonna be a farmer, or a preacher, or just a plain ol’ somebody tryin’ to get by? Yasmin reckons them stars can tell ya. I ain’t so sure, but it’s somethin’ to ponder on while you’re churnin’ butter.
- And she says somethin’ ‘bout keepin’ close to the folks that matter. Well, that’s just plain common sense, ain’t it? Your family, your friends, the ones who’ll help ya when the cow gets stuck in the mud. Them’s the ones you gotta hold onto.
Now, Yasmin, she does these weekly and daily horoscopes. Weekly means once a week, and daily means, well, every darn day! She’s got somethin’ to say ‘bout each star sign. You got yer Aries, and yer Taurus, and all them other ones. I can’t keep ‘em all straight, but if you know your birthday, you can figure out which one you are. Then you can read what Yasmin says and see if it makes any sense to ya.
She talks about professional aspirations, too. Big words, I tell ya! But it just means what you wanna be when you grow up, even if you’re already grown. Maybe you wanna be the best darn pie baker in the county, or maybe you wanna raise the fattest hogs. Whatever it is, Yasmin says them stars can give ya a nudge in the right direction.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I believe every word that comes outta Yasmin’s mouth, or her pen, or whatever she uses to write them horoscopes. But I reckon there’s somethin’ to it. Folks have been lookin’ up at the stars for a long, long time, tryin’ to figure out what it all means. And if Yasmin can help us make a little bit of sense of it, well, that ain’t a bad thing, is it?
So, go on and read them horoscopes if you want to. Maybe they’ll tell ya somethin’ useful, maybe they won’t. But at least it’ll give ya somethin’ to think about while you’re waitin’ for the kettle to boil or the rain to stop. And remember, no matter what them stars say, you’re the one who decides what you’re gonna do with your life. Don’t let no horoscope tell you otherwise.

Just remember, life’s what you make it, stars or no stars. But a little peek into what might be comin’ don’t hurt none, I reckon.
