Alright, let’s gab about this Revlon ColorStay stuff, you know, the makeup. Folks keep askin’ me, “Is it safe?” Well, I ain’t no fancy scientist, but I’ve heard some things, seen some things, and I got a good ol’ nose for what smells right and what don’t.
Now, some folks say Revlon, this ColorStay stuff, it ain’t all that bad. They say it gets a score of like 3 or 6, somethin’ like that. Sounds kinda middle-of-the-road to me, ya know? Not great, not terrible. But then they start talkin’ about somethin’ called “aluminum powder” bein’ in it. And that, well, that just sounds plain wrong. Aluminum is for pots and pans, not for smearin’ on your face! At least, that’s what I always thought.
I heard tell of some folks who really like this Revlon stuff, say it stays on real good. Well, that’s fine and dandy, but I reckon stayin’ power ain’t everything. If it’s gonna stick to your face all day, you better make sure it ain’t gonna do you no harm, right?

Then there’s this other talk about somethin’ called “titanium dioxide.” Sounds all sciency and whatnot. But they say the bigwigs, the FDA and those folks over in Europe, they say it’s okay to use in makeup. So, maybe that part’s alright. But I still don’t trust all them fancy ingredients they put in these things. Back in my day, we used beet juice for rouge and charcoal for eyeliner. And you know what? We looked just fine!
- They put all sorts of stuff in makeup these days
- I don’t understand half of it
- It’s probably not all good for you
They’re always comin’ out with new and improved makeup, this primer, that smoother, this perfecter. It’s enough to make your head spin! I heard Revlon even got some kind of special clean makeup now, somethin’ called “PhotoReady Prime Plus Perfecting + Smoothing Primer”. Sounds like a mouthful, if you ask me. Makes you wonder what was wrong with the old stuff they was sellin’ before, huh?
Listen, I ain’t sayin’ you gotta throw out all your makeup. But I am sayin’ you gotta be careful. Read them labels, even if you don’t understand half of what they say. And if somethin’ sounds fishy, like that aluminum powder, maybe it’s best to steer clear. There’s plenty of other ways to look pretty, you know. A good smile, a kind heart, that’s what really matters.
And another thing, don’t go slatherin’ on a ton of that stuff. A little dab’ll do ya, as they say. Let your skin breathe, that’s what I always say. And wash your face good every night, get all that gunk off. Your skin will thank you for it, believe me.
So, back to the question, is Revlon ColorStay safe? Well, like I said, I ain’t no expert. But from what I hear, it ain’t the worst, but it ain’t the best neither. It’s kinda in the middle. You gotta make up your own mind, do your own research. But if you ask me, erring on the side of caution is always a good idea. Especially when it comes to your face.
And remember, just because some fancy company says it’s safe, doesn’t mean it’s true. They’re just trying to make a buck. So, be smart, be careful, and don’t let them fool you into puttin’ somethin’ on your face that you don’t feel good about.
And one more thing, if you can’t understand the ingredients on the label, maybe you shouldn’t be using it. That’s my rule of thumb anyways.
