Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Venus Williams and that Hank… Hank… what’s his name again? Oh yeah, Kuehne. That golf fella. So, they was together, you know, like a couple. From 2007 to 2010, they say. Folks call it “romantically linked,” but back in my day, we just said they was courtin’. Don’t know much about what went on between ’em, but the newspaper, that Daily Mail, said it was “serious.” Sounds like they was pretty sweet on each other, you know?
But then, poof! It all ended in 2010. Just like that. Don’t know why, folks don’t always tell you everything, do they? Relationships, they’re like a cornfield in a storm, sometimes they stand strong, sometimes they get blown flat. This one, well, it got blown flat, I guess. And that Hank, he went and married some other gal, named Andy, in 2011. That’s how it goes sometimes, ain’t it? One door closes, another one opens, or somethin’ like that.

Now, Venus, she’s a strong one, that girl. She ain’t just sittin’ around cryin’ over spilled milk. But she’s been dealin’ with somethin’ called, uh… Sjögren’s… Sjogren… somethin’ like that. It’s a mouthful, ain’t it? This thing, it makes her tired, achy, and dry all over. Like a corn husk in August, I reckon. Must be tough, playin’ all that tennis and feelin’ like that. But she keeps goin’, that’s the spirit!
Her daddy, Richard Williams, he was her coach. Taught her and her sister, Serena, how to play. Made ’em champions, both of ’em. He must be proud, even with all the ups and downs. Family’s important, you know. They stick by you, through thick and thin. Like them sisters, Venus and Serena, always there for each other, I bet. That’s how it should be.
So, is Venus datin’ now? Well, that’s what folks are wonderin’. The reports, they don’t say much. Maybe she is, maybe she ain’t. It’s her business, ain’t it? A woman’s gotta do what’s right for her. Whether it’s swattin’ that little yellow ball or findin’ a good man, or just bein’ on her own. It’s all the same, long as she’s happy.
You know, life’s like a patchwork quilt. Lots of different pieces, some bright, some dull, some big, some small. You just gotta sew ’em all together and make somethin’ beautiful. Venus, she’s got her tennis pieces, her family pieces, her health pieces, and her lovin’ pieces. And she’s still sewin’, still makin’ her quilt. That’s all any of us can do, really. Just keep on sewin’.
Venus Williams and Hank Kuehne’s relationship was a part of her life, a piece of her quilt. It didn’t last forever, but that’s okay. Things change, people move on. What matters is how you keep goin’, how you keep swingin’ that racket, or sewin’ that quilt, or whatever it is you do. And Venus, she’s a strong woman, she’ll keep goin’, no matter what.
So that’s the story, as far as I know it. Venus and Hank, a few years together, then it ended. He married someone else, she kept playin’ tennis. Life goes on, like a river flowin’. And Venus, she’s still floatin’ down that river, strong as ever.
